  • I have an undergraduate degree in economics and a law degree. After practicing corporate law both at a law firm and in house at Dominion, one of the nation's largest integrated energy companies, I moved to a commercial role for Dominion. I was interested in the Chicago Management Institute because of University of Chicago's reputation for excellence and its economics-based teaching model. The format of the program helped ensure that I would be able immediately to apply to my job the knowledge gained at CMI.

    The CMI faculty is excellent. In seven years of higher education, they are the best teachers I've experienced. The faculty are thoroughly engaging and make you think. I am the ultimate multi-tasker, so I was shocked that I could enjoy being in a classroom solely focused on teaching and class interaction for eight straight hours.

    CMI's student body also provided a diverse mix of industries from product and service companies, as well as public, private and non-profit organizations. The University does a good job of making sure the class will be comprised of people who all have significant work experience to add to the classroom and breakout discussions. The caliber of people that you're learning with and from is a huge benefit.

    I flew in from the East Coast and didn't find travel to be a problem. Chicago is easy to commute into and The University of Chicago's downtown location makes it very easy to get to from either Midway or O'Hare. CMI was more than worth the commute.
